The Blacksmith plover was one of the first waders that I saw in Tanzania. I photographed it from far away, time after another. But it was here, in Lake Manyara NP, that I came really close. It is of course very similar to the European lapwing in both appearance and behavior.
Smedvipan var en av de första vadarna jag såg. Jag fotograferade den på långt håll, gång på gång. Men det var först här, i Lake Manyara NP, som jag kom den riktigt nära. Den är givetvis mycket lik vår egen tofsvipa i såväl utseende som beteende.
