This is the Gray crowned crane, the subspecies that occurs in East and West Africa (Balearica regulorum gibbericeps). This elegant bird has unfortunately been notably reduced in numbers and is now considered threatened. It is Uganda's national bird, and appears on its flag and coat of arms.
Det här är grå eller sydlig krontrana, den underart som förekommer i östra och västra Afrika (Balearica regulorum gibbericeps). Denna eleganta fågel har dessvärre minskat kraftigt och anses nu hotad. Den är Ugandas nationalfågel och förekommer på flaggan och i statsvapnet.
