This is a male Tacazze sunbird - yet another highland sunbird that thrives between 1,800 and 4,200 meters. It usually looks dark, almost black, but when the rays of the sun hit it right, it shines in violet and sometimes green. This individual was looking for nectar in the red flower bush in the picture, near the reception of our lodge at Monut Kenya.
