Chestnut-bellied sandgrouse / Brunbukig flyghöna

This female of Chestnut-bellied sandgrouse is notably different from the male. Gone are the black wing patches and wing tips, and so is the extremely long tail. Instead of the black belly band, the female has a clear boundary between the watery neck and the yellow-white belly. The eye ring is similar between the sexes, but the face, especially the cheeks, is yellow in the female while it is brownish in the male. Both are, despite their differences, very well camouflaged in the dry landscape!
