Early in the morning, we walked up to the cloud rainforest above Guango. Along the path, we saw a Spectacled whitestart (also called 'Spectacled redstart') that moved back and forth in the bushes. It was rainy and the bird was consecuently a little wet. But the yellow "spectacles" and the red little crown was clearly displayed. This species is insectivore and distributed in a narrow belt along the Andes, from southern Colombia to central Bolivia.
Tidigt på morgonen gick vi upp i molnregnskogen ovanför Guango. Utefter stigen pilade en liten glasögonvitstjärt fram och tillbaka i buskarna. Det var regnigt och fågeln var av förståeliga skäl litet blöt. Men de gula "glasögonen" och den röda lilla kronan lyste tydligt. Arten är insektsätare och vanlig i ett smalt bälte längs Anderna, från sydligaste Colombia till mellersta Bolivia.
