As the Swedish name suggests, this is a species found only in the Kalahari Desert and its surroundings. It thrives in dense and thorny bush vegetation, and is therefore often difficult to spot if you do not hear the loud, territorial call. This individual quickly ran by us in the shrubbery and I got only two reasonable pictures out of a series. This one, where it pauses for a fraction of a second and wonders who I am, became my favorite.
Som namnet antyder är detta en art som endast finns i Kalahariöknen med omgivningar. Den har specialiserat sig på tät och taggig buskvegetation och är därför ofta svår att upptäcka om man inte hör det höga, revirhävdande lätet. Den här individen kilade snabbt förbi i buskagen framför och jag fick väl på sin höjd två rimliga bilder. Den här, där den stannar upp för en sekund och undrar vem jag är, blev min favorit.
