Burhinus capensis
Spotted thick-knee / Fläcktjockfot

18    2017-09-30    Etosha NP, Namibia

This Spotted thick-knee has almost the same color as the surroundings. The otherwise long legs are folded, and therefore the bird seems to be short-legged. Thick-knees are active at dawn and dusk, and thus they usually sit still in the daytime, hoping that the camouflage colors will protect them.
